Julie O'Kane

I love being a Celebrant. Whether it is Formal Wedding, Casual Beach party wedding, a family funeral, or recognising the end of a marriage I like to get it right.

Since I first discovered Celebrancy I have been fascinated by the many and varied roles that it takes. Being a Celebrant lets me help people remember the important days in their life. Ritual is so important today when we have so many outside pressures on our life and time. Taking time out for a ritual of naming, marriage or farewell lets us put life on one side for a little time and recognise memory making occasions.

My background of being a Registered Nurse for many years has helped me be a better Celebrant. I trained through Qld Tafe and then completed a Cert IV in Business – which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am a parent to 3 great kids – now making their own lives. I was widowed when they were in their early teens. My other passions apart from my family and Celebrancy are travel and my old tabby cat.
